Santa Cruz is roughly 45 minutes outside of Mountain View, so our group took a bus to get there.
In Santa Cruz, there is a beach and "Boardwalk." The "Boardwalk" is very different from the boardwalks that I know at home. The Santa Cruz "Boardwalk" is designed as an amusement park. It was concrete instead of boarded - the irony.
The beach was too cold in the morning, so Abril and I headed to downtown Santa Cruz - a more pleasant area. Downtown, we looked in California style stores and ate lunch.
Footed sweatpants? Not sure what to think about these. They were in many stores.
Only in California?:
After lunch, we headed back to the Boardwalk section of Santa Cruz.
Here is the 1911 Looff Carousel. There are only a few carousels with their original horses left in the US - very cool to see one in Santa Cruz!
We waited on the beach until it was time to leave. The water was extremely cold! I miss the Jersey beach water!
I am really looking forward to attending a Hackathon tomorrow in San Francisco. It will be my first one - can't wait!!!
